PETER MANIACI General Manager
Chef Peter Maniaci is an East Pointe native and a graduate of East Detroit High School, Class of 1987. From the age of 15 to 19, Peter worked at the old Gaudino’s Market– an experience that he describes as having “shaped his future career”. Peter received a Culinary Degree from Schoolcraft College in 1995 and went on to work in many well known establishments including Forté (Troy, MI), the Townsend Hotel (Birmingham, MI), and the Farm Restaurant (Port Austin, MI). In 2007, Peter opened Bella Café in Grosse Pointe Farms where he launched a catering business, Chef de Cuisine. Peter’s commitment to serving Gaudino’s customers will be a blend of his historical experience with the company that sparked his love for food and his outstanding cooking and management experience of many years in the food industry.
JOE BEATO Executive Chef
Joe Beato was raised in Saint Clair Shores. In 1995, he graduated from Lakeview
High School. Joe graduated from the Oakland Community College Culinary Program and went on to win various awards and competitions for his culinary expertise. Joe expanded his culinary skills in 2001 at Café Veneto (Rome, Italy). This experience gave him the opportunity to get back to the roots of Italian Cuisine. Joe has both owned and operated restaurants in the metro-Detroit area alongside his Uncle Joe (Beato), most notably Via Nove (Ferndale, MI). Chef Joe Beato and his family have been longtime friends of the Genovesi and Amato extended family, making him the perfect addition to our team.
Joann Tocco was raised in Grosse Pointe Park. In 2001, she opened The Fondue Room in downtown Mt. Clemens, as owner and operator she had the restaurant for eight years. After that she managed the Mutuals and Simulcast Racing at Hazel Park Raceway. She has been in the hospitality industry for many years and was brought on to the team for her extensive management and bar tending knowledge. Joann enjoys spending time with her family and understands the importance of the “Italian Family Experience.” She welcomes the challenge of her new position and we welcome her to the team.
